分析纯化水管道的翻译

在翻译车间纯化水管道工艺流程图时发现管道一词有太多选择：

1)pipe-a tubular conduit for fluids or gases输送液体或气体的管状管道

$ w' t; A  s& w5 m' f6 u# I* p" o; N3)piping-the hollow tubes from which you construct pipelines or plumbing用来建造管道或管道的空心管
( t0 G  N3 T! i1 i2 L+ L, R4)tube&tubing-when you are speaking about hollow conduits, then pipe is to tube as piping is to tubing.the main difference being most people will assume tubing is flexible and piping is rigid当表达空心导管时，pipe等同于tube，piping等同于tubing，主要的区别在于大多数人倾向于认为tubing是软管，而piping是硬管

由此可以排除pipe和tube，而在pipeline和piping中选，不过这里又出现一个问题，如果tube和tubing是软管的话，那岂不是跟hose是一样的?

piping在工业管道中用的多，很少用到tube这个词。

下面是老外对hose和tube在表示软管时的区分。大意就是hose表示外接的软管，一头固定在水龙头等地方，在使用时一般用于固定搭配，如花园浇水用的软管，空压机管子等。
a hose is a type of flexible tubing attached to a tap. fluids or gases flow from the tap through the hose for use at a specific point, very often associated with agriculture- a water hose or a hose to spray chemicals

People would look at you a bit strangely if you walked into a garden center and asked for 100’ of tubing but they would know exactly what you meant if you said 100’ hose.

Hoses always come with some sort of coupling/attachment fittings on both ends. one end couples to a tap, the other end couples to a sprinkler, irrigation system, nozzle or other distribution device of some kind.
