Mechanical Engineering Lead

Position Responsibilities
4 R, v0 S: o( [; VDesign of complex electro-mechanical assemblies & systems including aluminum chassis design, heatsink design, PCB packaging Perform thermal and strength FEA analysis and prepare reports on results Perform laboratory verification testing of electro-mechanical assemblies, including vibration, shock, and thermal testing Create production drawings for machined parts, plastic injection molded parts, sheet metal fabrication, mechanical sub-assemblies, PCB fabrication, PCB assemblies and associated parts lists Management of the mechanical engineering functions to facilitate the design, integration, verification, and production transfer of avionics hardware.# h. Work with program management to develops cost and schedule baselines and targets and to ensure programs are staffed with the appropriate engineering personnel! `0 ~& t+ Y! Y, D1 m
Ensure all designs meet both internal and customer requirements and design standards.& P' M1 w1 L/ D+ v5 I
Identify issues and risks, develop corresponding mitigation/action plans, and track to closure8 I. L- _: ?* Q$ Y- @( {
Provide guidance and direction to the mechanical engineering personnel
/ `) a, p5 h' O3 T, b! AWork with the sales team to develop engineering input to proposals including technical, cost, schedule, and risk definition to meet customer needs.
/ Q+ j ?" K( v) kCoaching, mentoring, and development of engineering personnel including training, performance evaluation reviews, and hiring/termination recommendations( M B) k# l! L1 M
9 v5 t2 l& P( R) J% \' OEssential Skills and Experience
* T( C) p- v/ S9 S# C15 - 20 Years of aerospace electro-mechanical design and development experience including knowledge of electronics mechanical design practices and procedures 6 O( G4 x5 s9 X S" `! {% `
Knowledge of IPC Standards for the design and manufacturing of electronics assemblies.
( _3 A1 I9 ~2 v% ^1 e1 i# BKnowledge of ASME Y14.100-2000 & Y14.5-1994 drawing requirements.
( T$ u# _8 m, C* N/ m- g9 WKnowledge of industry & military specifications for materials, parts, and processes.
8 I3 B- g' {6 N5 d4 g% Y% q& ZKnowledge of various fabrication and assembly processes, including metal/plastics machining, plastic injection molding, sheet metal fabrication processes, brazing, welding, printed circuit board fabrication, printed circuit board assembly, and printed circuit board rework processes.
, ^" b" D0 ~& PTechnical knowledge of Electronics Packaging, Printed Wiring Board Layouts, Thermal Analysis, Strength Analysis

Proven accomplishments in positions of leadership managing various levels of mechanical engineers; p" u! w9 k" g3 O, ^& ]
Working knowledge mechanical design and simulation tools such as PADS, AutoCAD, Cosmos Design Star, AutoDesk Mechanical Simulation
; ] O3 ~' S- D& ~Experience with Microsoft Office including Word Excel, Powerpoint and Project8 Y5 Y4 H3 V& _4 v4 o
Familiarity with Root Cause and Corrective Action methodologies
+ l/ M7 D' ^8 k) O/ QPrevious experience in RTCA/DO-160 processes and FAA Certification
