§  RheinmetallAirborne Systems (RAS) is unveiling a new tactical unmanned aircraft design atILA 2012 - the X1-Ocean, "a hybrid airborne system that combines thecapabilities of a helicopter and a fixed-wing aircraft".

RAS is a joint venture betweenGermany's Rheinmetall Defence and EADS defense company Cassidian, and hasteamed up with Swiss UAV - a manufacturer of small rotary-wing unmannedaircraft - to produce the new design. Swiss UAV already cooperates with Saab onits Skeldar VTOL UAV.

RAS already produces KZOrocket-launched small tactical UAV. The X1-Ocean is a compound helicopter, withtwin rotors mounted at the tips of the wing and a pusher propeller. Such aconfiguration provides VTOL capability for shipborne operation with increasedspeed and range compared with a conventional unmanned helicopter.

这种气动布局是德国在的直升机世界的首创，也是世界第一架成功飞行、并成功应用的直升机的气动布局（比西科斯基早很多年），当然尾部多了副推进器。这种气动布局十分稳定，但需要精确制造。{:soso_e179:}

世界上第一架直升机诞生于1937年，由德国科学家福克·沃尔夫设计，被称为FW-61。这是一架横列式双旋翼直升机，也是世界上第一架真正能在空中盘旋的直升机，它沿用了普通飞机的机身和方向舵，机身前部装有一台发动机，起落架为三轮式，样子十分古怪。试飞那天，它由一名女子驾驶（菡娜），从德国柏林起飞，以68公里/小时的速度安全飞到了英国伦敦。进行这种长距离的飞行，在当时还是第一次。它的试飞成功，打破了垂直飞行器的飞行记录，震动了世界航空界。
